Anti-fogging lenses. an exclusive decathlon innovation

We've treated the transparent glass on the XC Race - Red and XC Race - White glasses with a new treatment that limits steam.Unlike current coatings, this technology is permanent. The coating absorbs condensation like a sponge so that your vision remains clear during cross-country rides. In certain very demanding conditions, fog may appear on the lenses for a short period of time.

Exclusive anti-fogging lens treatment cleaning advice

To effectively clean the treated lenses, rinse them under water with or without liquid soap and gently rub with your fingers. To wipe them, simply dab them with a soft (glass cleaning) cloth without rubbing.Allow to air dry, then wipe gently with a soft, dry (glass cleaning) cloth to remove any remaining marks.

Case

Composition: EVAZip fastening system.

I forget I'm wearing them

Worn loads now. Both lenses used. I've worn them on cold, dark, wet rides and warm (sweaty) sunny rides. I think they're excellent. I haven't had flecks of mud making it through to my eyes, as I did with previous pair (of Geraint Thomas fame). No fogging. Lovely clear vision, particularly with the tinted lenses. Fast singletrack through dappled shade was no issue: I saw everything. I forgot I was wearing them, which is what you want really. I have quite a small head so some sunnies are a big mobile and unwieldy but these are pefect. The lens goes nice and high up, to meet the underside of my helmet. I race a few TTs, often with a regular helmet on, so being able to keep my head low but still look forwards without a bulky frame or gap blocking my view is important. Delighted.

Lenses scratch very easily

These were ok for the price to start with. Quite hugging, and fairly close to the face, but still comfortable to wear and providing good protection with decent ventilation, though the frame can be obtrusive to peripheral vision. However, the clear lenses are rubbish, and flimsy. The inside coating (presumably an anti-fog coating of sorts) can only be cleaned with running water. If they get fogged up or have some sweat on them during the ride they’re practically impossible to wipe clean with a riding t-shirt or other soft cloth — they’ll just smear massively. No use mid-ride. Secondly, they scratch very, very easily on the outside. I always use my Oakley for sun protection when riding and in 2 years I’ve only had one, hardly noticeable scratch on them. These, after 4 months of use, are now completely unusable due to scratches. Price was good, but it seems like a false economy.

Lenses have a cheap film which peels away

Bought some of these Rockrider sunglasses, rarely used them and have always been kept in there original case. They are just out of warranty and I have noticed there is a film applied to the surface of the lenses which is peeling away from the edges. Glasses now look very scruffy and so I will no longer be wearing them. I would have expected them to last a lot longer than this at this price point. Save your money and buy a different brand or be sure they don’t have a cheap film on the lenses.
