Choosing your saddle width

This 172 mm wide saddle is suitable if your sit bone width is between 120 and 140 mm.

Watch the tutorial video to measure your sit bone width:

You can also watch our tutorial video which will explain all the steps described above: https://players.brightcove.net/3415345270001/DOHosj6Wy_default/index.html?videoId=ref:p2575062_1

To make the most of your bike ride:

For maximum comfort, adjust your saddle at four key points.Choose a model suited to your posture (for example, a 60° back angle).Adjust the height to suit your body type, then adjust the angle to avoid discomfort. Finally, adjust the setback for proper alignment. For complete comfort, don\'t forget to wear cycling attire suited to the length of your rides.

1. determining the saddle height (part 1):

You will need:a tape measure, a hardback book and a pencil. - Stand barefoot with your back against a wall, your heels touching the wall and your feet about 15 to 20 cm apart. - Slide a book between your legs, gently moving it up to your perineum to simulate a saddle. - Mark the top of the book on the wall. Measure the distance between the floor and this mark:this is your inseam length, which is essential for determining the size of your bicycle.

1. determining the saddle height (part 2):

Start by adjusting your saddle to the correct height. Multiply your inseam (from the floor to the top of your thigh) by 0.883. Example: 89 cm (inseam length) x 0.883 = 78.6 cm This measurement corresponds to the distance between the bottom bracket axle and the top of the saddle for an optimal position.

2. adjusting the saddle angle:

Easily adjust the angle of your saddle using a spirit level. Place it from the centre towards the tip of the saddle. The aim is to achieve a perfectly horizontal position. After a few rides, adjust it according to how it feels for optimal comfort.

3. how to measure your sit-bone width

To measure the width of your sit bones, place two pieces of corrugated cardboard on a stool.Sit on them with your back straight, applying strong pressure for one minute.Stand up and locate the two marks left there.Mark the centre of each mark and measure the distance between these two points. This measurement will help you choose the right saddle width for optimal comfort.

3. adjusting the saddle setback:

Adjust your saddle position for greater comfort. Sit on your bike with your back against the wall. Clip your shoes in and place the crank in a horizontal position. The front of your knee should be aligned with the pedal axle. If not, adjust the saddle:move it slightly forwards or backwards.

How to choose your saddle according to your riding style

To ride comfortably, the choice of saddle depends on your position. If you have a straight back (90°), opt for a wide gel saddle that\'s ideal for city bikes. For a slightly bent position (60°), an intermediate saddle offers the perfect balance between comfort and dynamism for regular rides. Finally, if you ride in a sporty position (30°), you need a narrow saddle with a thin nose, designed to limit pressure and optimise performance.

Very good

Okay Seat

intermedium seat good.

Good saddle

It’s definitely a good quality saddle but I’d suggest spending £5 more and getting the Selle Italia ST7. That one is much more comfy.
