Does not flash

Find the light ok, but would have liked it to have a flashing mode. Charge seems to last ok on long rides

Vido light worked 3 times

Very disappointed with this light, worked 3 times and now wont charge, just shows the wee charging light when try to switch on and same when charging, no use. Will try take back asap but live 200 miles form nearest store. This is not on Decatlon 3rd item in 12 months that has been substandard, not what they used to be...

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to read that they are no longer functioning.
I will be sure to forward your comments and findings on to the team in charge of lights at Decathlon,

doesnt charge after using once int he rain.

I cannot get it to charge, it just flashes a red light at the on/off button. Ive tried to leave it for a while to see if it needed drying, but that doesn't work.

It seems that your lights are faulty. Please return them to us for a refund or an exchange. This review will be picked up by the lights design team at Decathlon.

Great little light

Simple and effective. Used it in horrible rain and so far so good.

Small blinking status light

The small status light (under the on/off button) is blinking red while the battery is charging via the USB cable. What does this mean? That the battery is nearing the end of its life? I haven't charged it 500 times yet. I tried to find the instruction but couldn't find the answer. Thank you for your help.

Failed after a year

One of the better 'cheap' rear lights I've had. Still, it doesn't seem to be designed to cope with water or vibration in the longer term.

Thank you for your feedback regarding this rear light. If it is faulty and within the 2yr warranty period, please return it to us for an exchange with your receipt.

Avoid, used about 5 times, now no longer charges.

I'm sorry to read that your unit if faulty. Please return it to us for a refund.

doesn't blink

The light is nice, but for unknown reason there is no blinking mode. That would make you more visible and it would also significantly increase the battery life range. It's a shame because mechanically it's very good.

Thank you for your comments regarding the light. Yes, you are correct in saying that this light does not blink. This is an approved light for use with pedal cycles as some countries do not allow flashing lights and lenses also have to be of a certain quality. The legislation in the UK is also quite sketchy but a constant front white/rear red light is considered the safest option. Should you require a flashing rear light, then this model for £9.99 is excellent as it provides a flashing/constant mode for either the front or the rear, very versatile:

Doesn't Flash

As a driver and cyclist I can say that a flashing rear light is 10X better than one that doesn't flash. Besides that well made and durable, easy charging and removal.

Light is not waterproof

I had previously bought the front light for the same model and I was pretty happy with it so I decided to get the rear one. I have installed it on my bike which was left outside. After one week the light was already broken and full of water... I got a replacement light for Decathlon and same deal, after few days the light stopped working and was also full of water! This is definitely not the quality of product of expecting from Decathlon. The description of the product is saying waterproof but it is not true. I don't recommend to buy it.

Hi Corentin,

Thank you for taking the time to review the RL 500 Rear USB LED Bike Light. I'm sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with your experience.

This light has an IPX4 rating which means it withstands spray and heavy, persistent rain. If possible we would recommend to keep your bike and equipment in a protected space in order to limit exposure to the elements and prolong the life of your gear and components. You may have found that prolonged exposure to rain where the light was in a situation closer to being submerged has caused this issue. Please do not hesitate to visit the Tempe team again who will be able to see with you the best possible resolution.

Thanks again Corentin. Stay safe and well.

Beware: Strap very unreliable

I bought one of these but, the strap broke and the lamp fell off. The store replaced it with a new one. The new lamp also fell off my bike and I could not find it this time. My money and time have been wasted on this poor quality product. I will be careful to choose a product to buy from Decathlon next time because while their customer service is very good, product quality seems to be a hit-and-miss.

How do I know its recharging?

When I plug it into the computer, how do I know it is recharging? Should there be an indicator, (e.g.) a light flashing to show it is charging or a light to show it's finished charging?

Rear blinkers

Should have a blinking function also.

Hi Denny

Thank you for your kind review.

Maybe it should have blinking function. Maybe it shouldn't.

Will highlight it to the design team.

But have you looked at the other models that had?

Sportingly, Sazali Mountain Bike Sport Leader

Wont recharge, waste of money

I bought many lights from Decathlon including this one, and non recharges even I returned one of the earlier lights even that wont recharge, i though I'm recharging in the wrong way but unbelievable how are all lights faulty from Decathlon I cant fathom. Utterly disappointed with these products

Hi Khalid,
