Why protect yourself from uv rays?

In small doses, sunlight is great for your mood. It promotes the manufacture of vitamin D and helps to regulate sleep; however, exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause serious damage: to your skin (premature ageing and skin cancers) and your eyes (cataracts, retinal damage). These RC100 anti-UV tights comply with standard NF EN ISO 13758 for opacity and body coverage. It blocks over 95% of UVA and 98% of UVB rays

How to effectively protect yourself

For all outdoor activities - whether in the backyard, at an outdoor cafe, at the beach, in the mountains, exercising or walking - you must protect yourself from the sun1. Covering your body with clothing and a helmet liner is the best way to protect yourself from UV rays. To protect your eyes, you should wear glasses2. Avoid sun exposure in the middle of the day3. Use highly protective sunscreen4. See a dermatologist regularly

Our new medium density pad

To ensure greater comfort in the saddle, we created this "Medium Density" chamois pad.The fabric is soft and breathable. The reinforced zone is soft, with a density of 100 kg/m3 and a thickness of 13mm. The perforated fabric actively wicks away perspiration. The pad keeps you comfortable on rides of up to around 2 hours

Its shape

The shape of the reinforced areas (areas with thicker foam) was defined by tests on a sheet of pressure, designed by garment designers from a dummy moulding and approved after various trials and usage tests. This test, conducted on real cyclists, involves measuring the pressure points exerted on the saddle. The reinforced area covers contact points where pressure is greater. There is a dart at the front for a better fit.

Reinforced areas

The ischiums are well-covered, and the perineum is also protected. The reinforced area is relatively narrow between the legs to prevent irritation/rubbing while pedalling. Channels have been embossed into the reinforcements to provide greater flexibility.

Care tips

Machine wash at 30°C. Synthetic programme. Turn the garment inside out. Do not add softener. Hang to dry in a warm, ventilated place. Do not tumble dry.Do not dry clean. Do not bleach. Do not place on a heater to dry.

Product tests

Our team of product designers based at the B'Twin Village in Lille is continuously working to make cycling more comfortable for our users. Our obsession is to create products that meet the specific cycling needs of our users and eliminate things that get in the way of their rides. We then test our products in the field, as we are convinced that only by subjecting them to real world conditions, like the ones you experience on your bike, can we continuously improve our products.

Good for beginners

Very comfortable trousers for short rides, but similar to the triban shorts, these trousers also roll quite a lot at the front when you lean forward to cycle. Not great padding for long distance, would suggest keeping within a couple of hours with the pads. They're easy to put holes into if you have studded pedals like I do so be careful. This is a good product but would restrict to beginners as there's more durable and better padded products on the market for longer distance riders

Cycling tights

Only just started using them, alright they're as I expected them to be
