Pitching and dismantling

Simple to set up: aluminium tubes for the structure and fibreglass hoops for the roof. The living area structure is self-supporting.We recommend that 2 people pitch the tent.

Sun protection

The Ti0² -coated fabric is SPF 50+.Caution: A large amount of UV rays can pass through an open door. Protect your skin with sunscreen.

Ventilation

A door with a mosquito screen window. Can be configured as three half-doors or three open doors.

Wind resistance

We test all our living rooms in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side of the living room to the wind. A properly pitched living room with all guy ropes fitted should remain habitable in wind speeds up to 50 km/h near the ground.

Waterproofing

We test our living rooms to validate their waterproofing. The first test is done in the laboratory, 3 hours under 200 litres of water per hour per sqm, equivalent to 200 mm tropical rain per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams. This living area is fitted with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet measuring 2,000 mm. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips.

Repair

As designers and practitioners who love our playground, we care about the durability of our products. That's why all our tents and living rooms are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and repairs for inflatable hoops are available at the workshop of your Decathlon store or on our website.

Poles and tent pegs

Poles - All our poles are made from fibreglass and undergo double quality checks. This guarantees some of the best resistance against breakage.Tent pegs - All our pegs are made of steel and have a diameter of 6 mm.

Maintenance advice

Our camping living rooms have been designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) when camping or in the great outdoors. Continued exposure to UV rays over several weeks can damage the fabric. These products are not classified as “garden furniture” and aren’t designed to be left outdoors permanently. To guarantee maximum durability for your camping living room, it's important to store it when not in use.

A backward step (harder to assemble and pack away)

I had the previous version of this living room tent which was easy to put up alone. The sides and doors were separate which have greater flexibility of use and made it way easier to pack away. This newer version tent is one piece with doors etc sewn in and it requires 2 people to assemble and disassemble, which makes it less use friendly than before. Once up and in use it's fine, though losing the flexibility of being able to remove all the sides is a shame compared with the previous version. Quality / price seems ok though not sure if the frame will be as durable due to plastic corner joints. All in all its pretty unique at this price point but perhaps consider reinstating ease of use and assembly at the next redesign.

Camping living room

Bought this as a last min purchase due to weather conditions at a Festival, fantastic purchase assembles within minutes, excellent quality and fits perfect, unlike the pop up Gazebos. As easy to dismantle as to errect and fits into the spacious bag.

Superb

This is a superb event shelter, so easy to put up and make secure!
