Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the padded jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the padded jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the padded jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.
This padded jacket, when worn as a 3rd layer, has a temperature rating of 0°C that was certified during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5km/h wind. In our heat comparison tool, this is equivalent to 1 star. We have also tested this model in static mode. Its temperature rating is +10°C in this case.
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. A score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach.
We use a 100% polyester wadding: 100g/sqm in the body section and 60g/sqm in the sleeves.
Synthetic filling is a useful alternative to feathers: - It has good thermal insulation capacity, even when wet - It provides greater breathability and may be recommended in the case of dynamic activity (feather down is recommended for static activity) - Easy care: machine wash at 30°C and tumble dry

A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or the synthetic fibres from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
