For smoother gear changes we recommend mounting a new derailleur housing. It is recommended to fasten shifter tight with 5N.m torque (unless otherwise recommended on handlebar).
How well the derailleur shifter operates depends lots on derailleur cable and housing. Check they are in good condition for gear changing.
