Squeak, squeak, squeak

I’ve had these a couple of months. At first I was so pleased - they are light, comfortable, grippy - everything you could ask for from walking shoes. I wore them for walking the dog, and they are so comfy I started to wear them for work on days when I would be standing a lot. So far so good. Unfortunately a few weeks ago they started to squeak. It was quiet at first so I wasn’t too bothered, but the squeak became louder and more frequent. As I walked around it began to irritate me, and I’m sure it annoyed others as well it was so noticeable. It’s really embarrassing when people can hear you coming 50 metres away. The squeak has continued to get worse. It’s so bad now I cannot wear the shoes at all - each time I put my heel down it’s “EEEEEK”. It’s a shame, they had so much going for them, but they are now of no use. Cannot recommend, unless you are deaf to high pitched noises and don’t mind annoying everyone who passes you by.

Very stiff. Bad insole.

I went for a walk to try them and soon I noticed how hard they are. By the time I came back home my feet were painfully rubbed. There is not much cushion in the shoes and the insole is thin and cheap. The second day I had to run to a shop to get the best possible insoles. That helped and avoided throwing them to the bin.

Size matters

Past purchases not had an issue with sizing . I’m a size 9.5 / 10 so I thought I’d play safe and purchased 10.5 . Now I know my feet haven’t got longer , but my big toe has maybe mm or two space. Cant really review impact and cushioning because when you go past 50 you just don’t go bouncing around like you used hence the 3. SUMMARY Now because of the obvious size issue I probably won’t use decathlon again. Because going up to a 11.5 would be ridiculous, my toes need space but not that 😵‍💫much.
